MasteringBOX takes data and privacy very seriously. In this page, you can see which information will be used, how it will be handled and who can access it.
What information is Collected?
In order to provide, improve and protect our Service we will collect and store information you provide:
Cookies
We use “cookies” to provide and improve our Services. This is, for example, to identify a returning user and log him automatically if “Remember Me” button was pressed by the user, to improve load speed, for security and other applications. For more information please check our Cookies Policy.
Account
We collect and store your Name, email, Billing, and Payment information when provided.
Use
MasteringBOX stores the tracks you provide for you to download or share them. We also analyze and collect info about the tracks, such as loudness and frequency measures, style, input format, etc.
Access
We receive information provided by your device. This goes from IP address, browser type, screen size, the referer website and other device data. Depending on your device settings location information may also be transmitted. We will only store this information temporarily for security reasons.
How do we use this information?
All the information we gather has a purpose, we will not ask you for more information than necessary.
Provide, improve and develop our service
We use your basic data to provide the service, such as login information, cookies, etc. Additionally, the information collected from your tracks is used to constantly improve our mastering service and develop new features.
To communicate with you
Your contact information is used when we need to communicate with you. We can send you notifications through e-mail for many reasons: When you make an order, create a master, forget your password, etc. Additionally, we periodically send some e-mails to our users with useful production tips, offers, and news from MasteringBOX. You can control your notifications settings from your account.
Create reports to improve our service
We use tracking information to create reports about our traffic, marketing, social campaigns, etc.
How is this information shared?
To provide and improve the Service MasteringBOX staff will be able to access the all information gathered. We may also share some information to:
Analytics Services (Non-Personally Identifiable Information Only).
We use third-party services such as Google Analytics to create reports about our traffic, marketing, social campaigns, etc. Some of your Non-Personally Identifiable information that is stored in cookies is shared to generate these reports.
Vendors, service providers, and other partners.
We may share some information with vendors, service providers, and other partners who support our business, such as providing technical infrastructure services, facilitating payments, or conducting research and surveys. These partners must adhere to confidentiality obligations accordant with this Data Policy.
Law & Order
We may disclose your information to comply with the law, prevent or protect MasteringBOX from abuse, fraud or property rights violation.
Is your data secure?
MasteringBOX works constantly to secure your information, by improving and testing the service against vulnerabilities. The data is stored on our servers in Canada, Germany and/or Spain. Your information won’t be stored more than necessary,
What is our legal basis for processing data?
We collect and use the data that we have in the ways described above:
- as necessary to fulfill our MasteringBOX Terms of Service;
- consistent with your consent, which you may revoke at any time in your account;
- as necessary to comply with our legal obligations;
- to protect your interests;
- as necessary for our legitimate interests, including our interests in providing a profitable service to our users and partners, unless those interests are overridden by your interests or fundamental rights and freedoms that require protection of personal data.
How can you exercise your rights provided under the GDPR?
Under the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to access, rectify, port and delete your data. All this can be achieved in your account under the account information section. Additionally, you can claim your right to object to our processing of your data for direct marketing, you can do so by changing your notification settings, this link will always be available in such communications.
Data retention and account deletion
You can manage your information and your tracks from your account. Unless deleted, we store personal data for as long as it is necessary to provide our services. Your account information will be kept until your account is deleted or unless we no longer need the data to provide our services.
You can delete your account anytime. To delete your account, please go to account -> delete account. When this happens, the information will be erased from our servers. Please take note this process might be delayed so we can comply with our legal and tax obligations.
By default, completed masters will be stored for 90 days and uncompleted masters for 30 days – You can change these settings from your account. When a master is deleted, all the information associated with it – such as analyzed data and files – is deleted instantly, however, a copy will still be available in our backup servers until its deleted which usually will take less than 24h.
Data Policy modifications
Prior to applying any important changes to this Policy we will notify you and give you the opportunity to review the revised Policy before you choose to continue using our Services.
